It was easy to remove the CPU tray (I have a Mac Pro 5 which was the model where the WiFi slot switched to the bottom of the motherboard). And I had it installed within 10 minutes. Put the antennas on first (only 1 and 3 are used) and then plug the chip in! Be gentle with the screws because there are only two and they are very small.

If it works then WiFi should be an option under the network settings! I noticed that the antenna slots on the WiFi card itself were labeled with numbers, make sure to correlate the lowest values of the antenna to the lowest value reciever slots. I would recommend this item to a friend!

I noticed that it was a bit faster for downloading and uploading. Install was easy and took maybe two minutes. The included tool set helps a lot! I would recommend this item to a friend!

After the upgrade, the Wifi no longer worked, as expected. Installation was made easier by the fact that this Mac Pro 3,1 already had a WiFi card installed, so knowing which antenna cables to attach and where to attach them was easy. The magnetic screwdriver in the DIY kit was essential. After installation, Wifi worked perfectly. I would recommend this item to a friend!

This new card was not really difficult to install since the processor is mounted on a drawer that can be easily removed, giving access to the wifi card. The included magnetized Philips screwdriver helped me remove the 2 little screws and I used the small plastic tool to detach the antennas. Happy to be able again to connect wirelessly to the Internet.

The only problem for me was that it didn't have Wifi, and my 'home office' is on the opposite corner of my house from where my cable modem is. I bought this Wifi card for it.

Other reviews indicated that it might be a hassle to install, so I had it installed by a computer technician who has experience with Macs. (FWIW, he told me that it's actually pretty easy to install, if you know what parts need to be moved out-of-the-way). He had it installed in maybe 15 minutes, I bought it home, and so far it has been working fine. I'm glad I won't have to run an ethernet cable across the entire length of my house! January 4, 2015 Hi, I ordered this with a little trepidation as this is a used card and I read that the self-install would be a little hairywhich it wasHowever, with patience, a little foul language, and some online guidance, I was able to get this baby installed in about an hour. I was glad to have the small screwdriver that came in the tool set to help me with the teeny tiny screws to seat the card in the motherboard. I felt like a champ when I got my old machine up and running w/WiFi immediately after the install, and it's been working reliably now for over an month. Thanks OWC for having this kit available! I wish it came with instructions or an Installer Elf with small hands, but if I got through it, you can too! I would recommend this item to a friend!

The card does give me wifi on my mac pro, but it is a much weaker signal then my MBP in the same location. I actually had to re-arrange my office to get the pro closer to the signal. Now, the important part - the install: Sure the space is small but the worst part was finding the 3 antenna wires and then trying to figure out what went where. I had to try three different configurations before having success and getting the wires connected is the hardest part.

I ended up with 1 going to bluetooth and then 3 connected closest to the bluetooth on the card, followed by 2. The wires: mine were not visible at all. I had to flip my pro upside down and squeeze my pinky finger behind the motherboard and luckily I was just able to touch and pry one of the wires down. The other two were connected to it so they came easy afterwards.

I found the small plastic piece that came with the install kit crucial to getting the wires snapped on. Also the magnetic screwdriver was an absolute MUST HAVE. If your doing the install I bid you good luck. Took me about 75 minutes to complete. I would recommend this item to a friend!

Networking Switches 25GbE/10GbE Ethernet Top of Rack Switch - SSE-F3548S Data center networks are shifting from 10Gbps to 25Gbps at the access (leaf) level to take advantage of the extremely attractive cost advantages of 25Gbps technology. The technology advances in compute and storage are driving innovations in application architectures. Those newer applications demand higher network throughput and lower latency – enabling shorter times for job completion.

25Gbps Ethernet switches also offer backward capability with 10Gbps – thus enabling a seamless data center network migration. Often the cables used in 10Gbps deployment can be reused for 25Gbps. 25Gbps offers highly competitive price to performance ratio when compared to 10Gbps or even 40Gbps. Supermicro offers a data-center-optimized cost-effective 25GbE/10GbE Ethernet switch - the SSE-F3548S, and its companion reverse-airflow model, the SSE-F3548SR. Networking Adapters With outstanding performance, high power efficiency and excellent value, Supermicro's network adapters can help improve network throughput and application performance through features that maximize bandwidth and offload CPU resources.

From Gb, 10Gb, 25Gb Ethernet, InfiniBand and also Omni-Path and Fibre Channel technologies, dual-port and quad-port connectivity, in SIOM, MicroLP and standard form factors, Supermicro's network adapters are optimized for the most demanding multi-core computing systems.
